Sugoi (El Cangrejo)

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants here in Panama for the past few years, and it has been pretty good but the last few times service and quality of food has definitely changed . But I always like to keep going back as sometimes it could be a bad day. Went again last week and was even more disappointed than usual and that has to be the last time we go. It has a new name Tsugoi but with out the T, so now Sugoi, with new decoration , quite nice and light and what seems like completely new staff. Food was very average , certainly not how it used to be and really really bland and the service was definitely below par.. Having to try and find someone not on their phone so we could order something else was just too difficult and in the end we just gave up. They used to have really great and lovely staff , but now it seems like some people are from the street with no training or understanding of service. Not looking for 5 star service ,but definitely some attention and not having to wait til someone finishes their Wattsapp or Facebook conversation. So unfortunately poor quality food and poor service

One of my regular restaurants and once again the food was great. Japanese pizza, Wakami salad, sushi Fit and another main dish.. .. Service was good as always even though it seems new faces every month and the decoration is being changed which is actually making the restaurant look bigger. Good food, good service, good ambience and good prices.

Another great meal today. We went as a part of 4 for late lunch and the food was just delicious. What ever you order here , you must try the Japanese pizza, it is just incredible ( and has a few calories I am sure) The sushi rolls were delicious, the service was excellent and the prices reasonable. I was a bit worried as people had mentioned that it was not so good as before the covid, but that is completely untrue, it was probably better.. Would I go bac, Indeed we will be back, probably next week

Went for late lunch on Sunday and a truly delicious meal. Try the Japanese Pizza. It was delicious . Food was excellent and if you close your eyes you can savour the taste and know exactly what you are eating. Wine menu is a little basic but it was fine( I very much like my wine with lunch or dinner) Service was good but a few times we had to call the waitress over as they were busy chatting or checking their phones, and the ambience nice. It was not full at all but I think if it was really busy it may be incredibly noisy. Will definitely go back and is on of my five go to restaurants in the city which always has good food.

Delicious food again..Always tastes so good and well worth a visit. Have been many times and the food never dissappoints. The service is ok but can be very slow and i dont know why as the place is never busy on a Sunday.. Over 15 min wait for four glasses of wine, we even had to ask another waiter twice to please bring the wine. However putting that aside we will of course be visiting again as the food is excellent
