La Vespa Trattoria

La vespa has a great brick pizza oven and it turns out some great pizza. Participating in the #PizzaRocksPTY contest, La Vespa offers La Dolce Vita. Fantastic multigrain crust, speckled with farro and chia seeds. The crust had a delicious slight char on the edges, but also had slightly chewy soft towards the center of the crust. Topped with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, micro arugula, this shaved Parmesan cheese , and dressed with a hint of truffle oil. Might have been the best pizza I had in Panama!

My criteria for ranking a restaurant on the basis of its food is "can I make it better myself?". In the case of La Vespa the answer is no, I could not make it any better myself. From the very first item that came to the table to the very last, all the food was very good. We started with the burata and a Pizza Italia as starters for the table. The pizza was especially good. The crust was thin, the cheese was flavorful and the tomatoes and arugula were quite fresh. I ordered as a main dish the fish of the day which was mero on this particular Sunday evening. My wife and son ordered the skirt steak and my daughter ordered a fantastic ravioli. The mero was prepared perfectly and was quite tasty and its preparation. The skirt steak could have used a little bit more seasoning in its cooking. It needed a bit of salt. The ravioli that I tasted was actually quite tasty with the pasta that was fresh and cooked al dente. We finished the meal with a Nutella tiramisu and a panna cotta. Special notice must be given to the service. It is by far the best service in a restaurant I have encountered in many many years here in Panama. I look forward to going back to La Vespa!

En esta oportunidad nos llegamos a la Vespa para probar sus delicias de Italia. Nos encantó y disfrutamos de un buen almuerzo.

Conocimos este restaurante por casualidad y la verdad es que nos sorprendió muy positivamente. De entrada salmón con ensalada de aguacate riquísimo y de plato fuerte pedimos una especialidad del chef, unos linguini con langosta, en porción para dos personas, el cual estuvo delicioso! La atención fue muy buena, volvería a visitarlo!

Un buen sitio para almorzar los domingos en familia,tiene pizzas a buen precio y muy variadas recetas,muy buen servicio,amabilisimo un joven italiano,muy alegre,buen ambiente y la experiencia gastronomica buena con una falla que habra que ponerle atencion:el pan de la casa unpoco salado y una ensalada de Pulpo,la mezcla con la que combinaron el pulpo tambien salado.La presentacion de los platos muy vistosa.Los raviolis de Hongos Porcini y El Entrecote a las 3 pimientas de primera.
