Os Segredos Da Carne
The meats are not tender at all. Most of them are vet tough. The cubed beef with garlic tastes good but has a very off-putting outside texture. The servers slice the meat so thin that all the meat is crust. I was asking for double thickness slices so I can taste the meat. The best, IMHO, is the bacon wrapped chicken breasts ans the chicken drumsticks. The salad bar is very good, but whe the hearts of palm were finished the kitchen did not replenish the platter. That was the case for many salad bar items. The service was very bad till I called the attention to one of the hostesses. For 30 minutes no skewers came out. It felt like this was deliberate in order for us to indulge in the salad bar instead of the meats.
Patagonia Grill
The new location is much nicer thab the previous one. The entraña was great. The salad was also good. The baked potato was a bit overdone on the bottom. All in all a very good meal.
Los Años Locos (San Francisco)
Los Años Locos is an Icon in Panama and a gem of a restaurant. The service was excellent. The ½ charcoal grilled chicken was exactly what was needed to enjoy our friends while not over indulging.
Jimmy`s
Jimmy's is an icon in Panama. Went through a decline a free years ago, raised the prices, and lost it's appeal. I went back after 10 years. The decor was the same, but the servers were different. That's a good thing. We sat on the main air-conditioned dining room. Still stark and uninviting. I ordered the Greek Salad as an appetizer. It was OK. Served at room temperature which was a huge disappointment. I believe salads should be served as cold as possible. The main course was the Filete Angelo. This Filete has whole garlic Cloves cooked inside the filet. I enjoyed that. The baked potato is nothing like a baked potato. Don't order that ever. The prices are reasonable now.
Perú Chicken
Go for the food, with no expectations of anything else. The ceviches are great. The Chicken, when they have it is outstanding.
Yoss Burger Bar
Yoss is a great place for a healthy protein rich lunch. The beef shwarma platter is an excellent choice. The Avocado appetizer was outstanding.
Michael`s (Costa del Este)
Michael's bis the place to go for Sunday breakfast! The selection and value is on point. The tablas are the way to go.
Petit París (Marbella)
Went there for dessert on Friday afternoon. The croissant with ice cream was spectacular. The crepe with Nutella is a must.
Pretelt Gourmet Meats (Marbella)
This was a great lunch. The value is there. The service upon entering is fantastic. The menu is broad. I ordered the New York Nacional and it was tender and full of flavor. It come with a side dish and I selected the capresa salad. The salad was mediocre, but you don't go to Pretelt looking for a salad. I will go back to try the other nacional cuts.
Siete Granos (El Cangrejo)
I ordered the pour over coffee and a Buda Bhan (something like that) sandwich. It was good, but way different than when I had it in the original Dan Francisco location. The service was slow, but I expected the pour over to take some time. But the sandwich took way too long. The notice level in the dining room is very loud. No way you can relax with a cup of coffee there.
