The restaurant has a cute, chic decor, the service was spectacular, but the food is not on par with what they charge, at least on what we ordered. We enjoyed the popcorn shrimp and the Ebi roll, the portions were generous and the flavors and texture were delicious. However, the soup dumplings (asopao) were undercooked and extremely soggy. We ordered duck crepes and the duck was overly dry and had no flavor at all, not even the crispy skin, just nothing, I had to keep adding the Hoisin sauce to see if it would help a bit. It was extremely disappointing, and the crepes were too hard, I think it was almost like a tortilla. Not a good first experience with this restaurant.

This ice cream spot is proof that you don’t need a fancy decorated place to attract customers. This shop is always full and it’s because their ice cream is so GOOD. My favorite is the coconut ice cream, dipped with a little bit of the chocolate sauce. It’s always a must have after having a meal in one of the restaurants in the plaza.

The food and overall experience at Makoto is very good. We mainly ordered appetizers to share, and I would come back just for the Steam Buns. Everything about the buns, from the bao, to the cole slaw, to the beef tasted well and paired very nicely. We also shared some sushi rolls, my favorite being the Shrimp Tempura roll. Other items that I would recommend are the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Spicy Edamame, and Chicken Dumplings. We sat inside, the lighting was extremely low and it was very difficult to read the menu, but I also noticed the terrace which seems to be the more popular spot to dine.

The croquetas de ropa vieja are to die for! We shared several different appetizers, but the croquetas were my favorite. The other dishes that really stood out as well were the meatballs, tuna tartar, aranitas, and the chicharron enroscado. Service was well organized considering it was a full house and everything that we ordered was served in good timing.

The restaurant is beautiful, on the inside and out, you can tell a lot of thought and detail were put into creating this restaurant. I would recommend to sit outside on the terrace, you really do feel more comfortable in a more relaxed setting. We tried the cazuela de almejas, and the 8 1/2 burger, and they were both amazing in flavor, the burger very juicy (the bun was too heavy I thought, but still worth having). They have a variety of cocktails, I tried the Oh Carol and it was refreshing and matched perfect with the setting of the restaurant. We also tried the coulant de chocolate which was really good but the serving of coconut ice cream could have been a tad bit more (it was really good though).

The culinary experience at Salvaje is truly unforgettable, we were a group of 6 and had the opportunity to order different items off the menu. The appetizer that I really enjoyed the most were the mushroom and truffle dumplings, highly recommended. The other items that I really enjoyed were the edamame, tuna pizza, and the arroz con pato. The Marco Polo cocktail is really well crafted, it's not overly sweet as it may look, and it gives you the opportunity to taste the flavors in the drink. Ambiance is nice and cozy with dim lighting to celebrate any special occasion and service was top notch. Would definitely love to come back again soon and have some more of the dumplings :)

The Volcan Baru de chocolate has to be one of the best lava cakes in Panama. If you like chocolate, you definitely will love this. The tuna tartar tastes amazing, I loved the strawberries in the tartar, gave it a very interesting twist.

Wingstop is my absolute favorite wings franchise in the US and it finally arrived in Panama and the wings are sooooo sooo good! My favorite are the Lemon Pepper and Louisiana style wings, I highly recommend it! The cool thing is that if you're a large group (which we were) they have options with varying sizes and if you want boneless/wing combined they'll honor that option for you. I love the onion rings, but the portion is very small and the price is a bit high for what they charge. Service is very good, they are always attentive and asking how everything is, and the restaurant itself is a good spot to watch sports since they have tv's covering the walls. The booths can get really shaky if you have another party sitting behind you on a connecting booth, but I know for next time to sit somewhere else because I'm definitely coming back again for my Lemon Pepper wings :D

We decided to go for appetizers only this time around, and it was well worth it! The one appetizer that we absolutely loved were the Bao Pork Buns, the flavor and seasoning were just perfect, and the pork was soft. We also loved the classic Spicy Ebi Shrimp and the Wantones de Lomo. The Sakura Tartar was ok, but wish we could have ordered something else instead. And dessert! Our absolute favorite is the Okashi, a chocolate fondant cake served with a scoop of ice cream, the best!! The organization and service of the restaurant is spot on, which makes the moment even more enjoyable.

I would highly recommend the ceviche de pulpo, it is not the traditional ceviche where you would expect it to be cold, but rather they grill the pulpo and then marinade it with the leche de tigre, and the concoction actually works. I would also recommend the empanadas de ropa vieja, and entrana. The sangria tasted like soda, and for $25 a jar, I didn't find value in it. Service was incredibly slow due to missing personnel, but our waiter was incredible and never hesitated in assisting us.
