Last night was actually our second time at Pretelt in Costa del Este. We are relatively new to Panama and now Ciudad de Panama, having moved from Canada to Boquete and now in the "Big City". I am retired but my executive career permitted me to travel extensively in North American experiencing the finest hotels and restaurants in Canada and the USA. We also have vacationed in most Carribean countries frequenting many restaurants off the resorts, so I feel qualified to recommend, compare or critique an establishment. Pretelt, Costa del Este may not be the place to attend if you're into wearing suits and/or formal wear but the food is second to none and the prices are great compared to some so-called 5 star restaurants. Frankly I am over wearing suits for fine dining. I would rather enjoy the comfort of my blue jeans, a casual shirt and good friends with some of the most delicious plates I have ever enjoyed. Myself and my guest have sampled pretty much every steak and seafood plater on the menu and never have I personally had any complaint. The same would be said with everyone I have ever dined with at Pretelt Gourmet. The staff were awesome in spite of some minor language (Spanish/English) issues but we had fun, staff were very accommodating and attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend and will certainly return again in the not too distant future. Pretelt has become our favorite "go-too" since arriving in ciudad de Panama!
