Hacienda Real Steak House - Mariscos

End of the month date night was upon us, so we decided to visit a location we haven't been to in awhile, so we chose Hacienda Real. Surprisingly, there was ample parking available on a quincena Saturday night - making it easy to get in. Service was excellent from our entry into the restaurant, which has been a bit of a constant there. We were quickly seated and reviewed the menu. We both noted that the prices in general have increased quite a bit + the menu was a bit limited, compared to the last time we visited. In fairness, it's been over 2 yrs since our last trip there, so a lot can change in that time frame. We decided to do a Parillada - the Surf & Turf (Mar y Tierra), chased with a Margarita for her and Red Sangria for me. The sizzling platter can with - Chicken (Leg&Thigh). 2 Chorizos, Sirloin steak, Corvina & 3 Large shrimps. For sides, we had Yuca frita, Guandu rice, Guacamole & Patacones. Everything was well prepared, with the only exception being the steak, which we wanted done medium, but it came out medium rare, which was not the ideal level for the wife. That aside, everything else was tasty and in good portions. For desert, we tried the 4 Chocolate layer cake, which was very good and a fitting close to the meal. Out server was excellent - very attentive, responsive and always available. very professional. Good ambiance overall, not too loud, even with a large birthday group adjacent to us. It was a good meal and a pleasant time for our date night out. We enjoyed a discount, which made the pricing more reasonable , representing a solid value, all things considered. We recommend a visit.

Hacienda Real continues to be provide an overall good dining experience when you are looking for decent steak. The seating area is very expansive and airy, allowing for a very comfortable feeling. The service is not the fastest or most attentive - this is the only area that I would say they need to improve. It is not terrible, but certainly could be better. We like that they provide a warm broth to start - this helps get your taste buds going and in the mood for steak. I ordered the Shrimp & Steak (good sized shrimp and tasty, well prepared steak) with salad and patacones - all good. The wife had Grilled Corvina (healthy serving and cooked well) with salad and yuca - also all good. Our son had his usual Chicken fingers w/fries - which he ate completely (very good for a 3yr old) and for desert, we tried the Brownie a la Modes - can't go wrong with that. They offer a decent selection of wines, beers and cocktails, though only one type of wine by the glass (red & white). Overall, it is a good value in a comfortable setting that will have something for everyone to enjoy a good meal.

Another late date night at a restaurant we have visited in over 2 years....Hacienda Real won the voting. We pulled up at 9:20pm, got seated right away and immediately, we were presented with a starter from the kitchen...a steaming cup of light chicken broth, a good choice. After downing that, we made our selections....Mar y Tierra for me (12 oz. Filet Mignon + 6 Prawns in a garlic sauce srved with bread) Grilled Salmon for my wife. I enjoyed my dish...a larger plate than expected where the steak was presented as 4 tender medallions cooked to my specs (medium) along with the Prawns which were very tasty and worked well with the not too oily garlic sauce. My wife's Salmon plate was a well cooked healthy serving as well, accompanied with a fresh salad. A good job done for a steak house. We also had a side of yuca, which was also very good. To close we shared the brownie a la mode....a warm smooth, chocolate brownie topped with Vanilla ice cream...which we t iver very well!! A good meal with solid service all around from the staff. They have reduced the menu from the last time we ate there, but the continue to offer a very good product and we recommend others to check it out.

Este restaurante esta bellamente decorado y la atencion es muy buena. Sin embargo, la comida no llena las expectativas. Pedimos un "vacio" que indicaba que era importado pero ciertamente no parecia carne americana. estaba durisimo. De primer plato pedimos el guacamole y los frijoles refritos, lucia que los habian hecho dias antes y bastante compactos. La copa de vino si era amplia, y el vino de la casa, bueno. No pedimos postre. Si vamos alguna vez de nuevo, pediremos otra cosa, pues a lo mejor es solo el vacio el que es duro. Desde las ocho habia un trio de musicos, pero nosotros salimos mas o menos a esa hora asi que escasamente pudimos escucharlos.

Muy bonita la decoración y un lugar acogedor tal como su nombre "Hacienda Real", el caldo calientito de bienvenida, la atención recibida por su personal y los platillos que probamos. Todo espectacular. Lo recomiendo!
