August "new experience" date night took us back into Casco Viejo to check out this spot - hears about it but neither of us had the pleasure before this Saturday night. It's located just about at the entrance of Casco, so perfect drop off with an Uber. We were greeted right away upon entry, acknowledged our reservation and was seated immediately. The ambiance is cozy, tables close, but not on top of each other. They certainly maximize the interior space.
There's visibility into the kitchen which helps the gastronomic feel and love the chalkboard menu above the kitchen. The chef lists the days specials on that board, making it easier to assess which dishes we want to savor from either menus.
Service was excellent throughout, not surprising as it appears the owner/mgr was actively working the floor.
For the starter, we went with the carpaccio - an excellent, light starter for both of us to get the palate activated. Coupled with the complementary cocktail, we certainly started off on the right footing.
For the main course, I had the chef special Prawns over coconut rice - simple, tasty dish with good portions & my wife had the skirt steak (entraña) - tender, well prepared and flavorful. The desert was also a winner, a great cap on a delicious evening.
Overall, highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a Spanish/Argentinian taste experience. We're certainly interested to revisit to explore more of the menu.
