It is rare that I write reviews.
I regret having to put down a negative review, but I feel I owe it to others who read the fabulous reviews for this restaurant, as I did, and only go and have a totally different experience.
The air conditioning was inadequate.
The specialty drink I had was lousy.
The spring rolls tasted good, but the Chinese mustard wasn’t hot or spicy enough.
The two beef dishes we had were lousy. They were covered in thick overly-sweet sauces, and were both too rubbery to be enjoyable.
The ONLY side dish the meat dishes come with is rice—no substitutions. So if you want to order fried rice as well, your only option is to end up with a LOT of rice.
But I love fried rice so I ordered it anyway. It was so bad I complained to the waitress that it wasn’t edible. To the credit of the waitress and/or restaurant, it was taken back to the kitchen and removed from my bill.
The only shining light of the evening was the large Won Ton Soup, which was moderately priced, yet enormous and very tasty.
The wait staff was okay, but nothing to write home about. A pet peeve of mine is not being able to find your waitress when you want the bill. It’s aggravating to wait 15 minutes when all you want to do is leave.
And speaking of leaving, we normally ask to have any leftovers wrapped “to go.” But although there was plenty of food leftover, it wasn’t even worth it. Neither of us had any intention of eating any more of the meat. And it was too tough for our small dog.
I can’t figure out why there is a waiting line for PF Changs. Maybe people assume it has the same quality of food as the one in Miami. It doesn’t.
My wife and I vote with our feet. I can’t imagine going back to this restaurant.
