Niko's Café (El Dorado)

Finally had a chance to check out Niko Cafe in front of the Multi Plaza Mall after 10 months of passing by it almost everyday. We went there on a Sunday morning before 10 am and the place was almost full. I guess this is really a popular spot with the locals. Our Spanish is terrible so we kinda looked around first to see how people got their food. So for those like us who want to experience this restaurant for the first time, here is how it goes. If you just want to have bread or pastries with your coffee, there is a separate kiosk which is located near the entrance. The breads are priced by weight (mostly 6 USD per kg) but of course you can buy by the piece. On the other side, of the main entrance is the start of the cafeteria style service. The first is a sandwich station followed by coffee and then the regular menu. When we were there, they had the breakfast items on display so you can choose your scrambled eggs, french toast or sausages. Just point to what you like and they will put it on a plate. Then comes the beverages and dessert section before you reach the cashier to pay for your food. The main dining hall is fairly big and they have a play area for kids.

Me duele mucho que Nikos Café haya decaído después de tantos años, la comida ya no es la misma, se nota que bajo la calidad no solo en una sucursal si no en todas, lo único que puedo comer en Nikos es un Club Sándwich o un Gyro que están recién hechos, ya que la comida la dejan fría y pareciera que hasta el día siguiente lo cual es un poco desagradable. Los postres siguen siendo buenos.

Ok food, nothing special at all. I ordered to go for the first time and I was kind of impressed on the way the food was packed. Very practical when you are in a rush.

Fui en la madrugada y es donde la atencion es un asco. La cajera le da igual si pides o no ella solo esta ahi mirándote hasta que decidas. El gyro ya no es lo mismo!

Buen lugar para comer en la madrugada con mucha hambre. No es excelente o gourmet, pero tiene emparedados que valen el precio y las comidas me parecen bastante accesibles, ricas y te dejan satisfecho. Como aquí casi todos los fines de semana, me encanta el Niko Steak y de comida el Filete de Pescado, la salsa es deliciosa y el pescado tiene la textura ideal. También las papas para acompañar las comidas son riquísimas.
