Segunda vez que voy a Madero. Esta vez pedi el filete de res madero con pure de papas. Una opcion relativamente segura para celiacos. El servicio fue muy bueno y el ambiente bastante agradable.
Madero has turned out to be one of those rare hidden gems you’re almost surprised you overlooked for so long. We had driven past it countless times without giving it much thought, but after hearing repeated praise from my in-laws, we finally decided to give it a try. Three breakfast visits over the past four weeks later, it has firmly earned a spot in our regular restaurant rotation. So far, we’ve only experienced breakfast, but if the same food quality and service standards extend across the full menu, this place is an absolute winner. Even before walking in, it starts strong: ample parking in front of the beautiful al fresco dining area, plus underground parking, makes finding a spot refreshingly easy for a city restaurant. Inside, the space is bright, airy, and thoughtfully designed, with high ceilings, warm wood accents, natural light, and comfortable seating that creates a casual elegance with a homey feel. The layout is spacious enough that each table feels private rather than crowded. The service has been consistently excellent. The staff is warm, professional, and attentive, with visible team camaraderie that adds to the welcoming atmosphere. I especially appreciate the steady presence of management on the floor, something that almost always signals a well-run operation. Every breakfast dish we’ve tried has been outstanding, from the Desayuno Madero and Panameño breakfasts to the omelette, cappuccino, and fresh juices. The ropa vieja and carne encebollada stand out in particular: tender, flavorful, and a clear sign of quality ingredients and proper preparation. Our most recent visit especially reinforced why we’ve become such fans. After our son’s early morning football game on Saturday, I ordered the Desayuno Madero and found a small piece of plastic in the Ropa Vieja portion of the dish. What could have been a disappointing experience instead became proof of excellent management. The server responded immediately, the manager personally apologized, explained where the kitchen process had failed, and replaced the entire plate, along with my half-finished cappuccino, in short order. They even added extra fresh bacon, a new serving of ropa vieja, and an extra tortilla. More importantly, the manager returned again to ensure everything was perfect and shared how the issue had already been addressed with the kitchen team. That level of accountability and customer-first service says everything about the restaurant’s standards. Great food, thoughtful ambiance, and service recovery done right have made us genuine fans. If you’re looking for high-quality Panamanian-Spanish fusion breakfast in a warm, elegant setting, Madero is absolutely worth the visit.
